Why gel beats a spray in a kitchen

A spray treats the surface you can see. Roaches spend most of their time in the voids you cannot reach — wall cavities, cabinet backs, motor housings. Gel bait is placed inside those voids, so it reaches the population where it actually nests rather than only the few insects that happen to cross a treated baseboard.

• No airborne mist. Nothing settles on food-contact surfaces, which is why gel is the preferred format for kitchens and pantry areas.
• No strong solvent smell. Suitable for apartments and shared-wall units where odour travels.
• Visible placement. You can see exactly where each dab went and top it up when it is consumed.

How to apply

1. Clean the target surface and let it dry completely. Bait applied over grease or cleaning residue is ignored.
2. Load the syringe and place dabs roughly the size of a grain of rice, about 15-20 cm apart.
3. Target: cabinet hinges and corners, the seam where countertop meets wall, behind and under the refrigerator, under the sink around pipe collars, skirting board gaps, and any spot with visible droppings or egg cases.
4. Do not spray insecticide on or near the dabs. Sprays contaminate the bait and roaches will avoid it.
5. Check after 5-7 days. Where a dab has been eaten, replace it. Where it is untouched after two weeks, move it closer to the harbourage.

Keep out of reach of children and pets. Wash hands after handling. Do not place dabs on food, tableware, cutlery or surfaces where food is prepared directly. Store the syringe closed, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not allow pets to lick treated areas. Dispose of empty syringes with household waste according to your local regulations.

How long before I notice a difference?

Feeding usually begins within the first few nights. Most households see a clear drop in visible activity within 1-2 weeks, but a full colony takes longer to work through because the bait has to be carried back to the nest. Keep dabs topped up for at least 3-4 weeks.

Will I see more roaches at first?

Sometimes. Bait can draw insects out of harbourage as they search for the food source, so a short increase in sightings in the first few days is normal and is not a sign that the product is failing.

Can I use this in a home with pets?

Yes, when it is placed where pets cannot reach it — inside cabinets, behind appliances, along the back of skirting boards. Never leave open dabs on floors or counters accessible to cats, dogs or small children.

How many syringes do I need?

One 30 g syringe covers a typical apartment kitchen. A house with activity in the kitchen, bathroom and utility room usually needs 2-3. Multi-packs are priced lower per syringe.

Does it work on ants or spiders?

It is formulated for cockroaches. For ants, spiders and other crawling insects use a residual spray instead.
